The End of a Chapter and a New Beginning

Anyone who has been playing in Cervantes would have realized that after the mutiny by its former trusted members, Dominion had taken a stab in the back and has thus been weakened significantly.

Despite the fact that the majority of our remaining members do not have any animosity towards Illuminati, the events following the last colony war had indicated their stand towards what's left of the Dominions. This is indeed disheartening.

With most of our leaders and members having real life commitments to fulfill, it is regrettable that we have unanimously agreed to disband Dominion.

Our many apologies to our newly recruited members, who have joined Dominion despite our recent troubles. We wish you all the best in finding a new faction.

Therefore, with this, we will conclude the end of Dominion Faction. It has been a superbly fun experience and we thank you all for making it enjoyable.

Gratitude

This is my first posting on our faction blog and ironically it is also my last or the last few times that I will post.

I shall take this opportunity to express my gratitude to my members/friends like: Ralphe, Leoz, Lothlorien, Rey, Reduan, PepsiCola, KaLong, VonGiftzhane, Famiglia, Hush, Nwo, Amelia, all the old warhorses of Dom (not mentioned in order of credit). Not forgetting my fellow GE players –our ally Fenrir and others that had been supporting and assisting me to take care of the faction during my absence due to my commitment to my studies.

Many had pmed me ingame on the last colony war asking me what had exactly happened, I shall not comment on it since our own sweet Lothlorien have already did an entry on what has going on in Dom and our current situation.

No matter where Dom is heading towards in the future, I hope that we are able to keep this friendship that we have forged together over the past 6 months. This is inclusive of our MY and PH members which I look forward to arranging an outing in the future to meet them as we had done in our recent August KL trip.

Ah... It was definitely surreal having to fight ex-mates. Anyway, my congratulation to Illuminati and the rest of the factions who managed to leave your mark in today's war.

To Domies: I think we need to take a month's vacation together after today episode. Any virtual game that would allow us to chill out/holiday together? Ha ha. Good job guys, we tried and it is all that matters.

In the mood for change

Hi guys! It has been a while since my last lucid post. Heh. I haven't been blogging much, since there is nothing interesting to write about.

I guess by now, most (in Cervantes, at least) would have noticed the exodus of Dominion's members to another newly-created faction. Illuminati, probably the baby of Miya and Sitoca, recruited the better (debatable :D) and more hardcore players from Dominion, who are seriously into raids. There have been some unhappiness in the past, due to inactivity from the more senior members and insufficient participation of members in raids. But I suppose all is well now, since the more hardworking and active players are grouped into one faction to do a common activity that is so important to them.

There is no clear direction on how Dom is to proceed from now, but one thing for sure, I am playing this game for enjoyment not stress. I don't speak for everyone, and I am sure everyone has different reasons for playing an online game, but I much prefer the laid back Dom before competition lead us to become an unwilling aggressor. Years of playing healers in different games must have make me into a softy. Ha.

Anyway, I digress.

What do you guys think about the new blog design? I have wanted to give Dom's blog a new look but haven't been able to come up any idea, till I found the very cool new character (new monster or npc, anyone knows?). So, do you like it?

Colony War 08102007

It was a great war for the Dominions who had been able to participate in last Sunday's Colony War. For the Dominions, sitting on the top of the chain had been admittedly rather stifling. The spilt from almost two fifths of our member base had crippled us severely. Though I might have refer to it as a spilt, some who had chosen to stand by us might disagree otherwise. Whether it was a mutiny, a reform or a split, it has served to remind us to not be complacent. It had taught us a lesson and in turn humbled us.

The colony war started predictably with a massive amount of factions warring and tearing our beacons. Due to our inability to defend all, we had agreed to give our colonies to Fenrir, our all time ally and Illuminati, formed by former Dominions. I admit that it was heart breaking to see us losing nine of our colonies, but we have seen this coming after Saturday's sudden expulsion of members (and having them joining a new faction). Most of us in Dominion have prepared ourselves for the worst, and that was to end the war without a single colony. We knew that we were unlikely to be able to defend all but one, hence the decision. Yet we preserved to defend Scorching Plateau and had deterred people from taking over despite the heavy barrage we received.

With only 3 squads we managed to defend Scorching Plateau and take over Jezebel Glen and El Tejado Verde. It is a feat that we had not foreseen. It had been great fun fighting the war like we had been with Yakisoba.

With regards to Lezard's absence from GE, he is not retiring from the game but is in fact taking a break for his exams. He will be back, but not quite soon. Meanwhile, life in Dominion proceeds on with a Temporary Leader. Recruitment of Dominion is available at our forums. We welcome you with open arms, you can also pm famiglia / VonGiftzhane / Hush to apply ingame.

To all the players that had stood by us and given us your support, thank you and we cannot thank enough to Fenrir for standing by us despite being severely crippled.

Malaysia GE Grand Launch Events & CW

Malaysia GE event had started on 14th September 2007. Sadly, i can't make it on Friday due to work. On the 15th & 16th September, i was there with my faction mates to enjoy it.

Cineleisure Damansara where all the actions happened~Grand Launch of Malaysia Granado Espada~ This is the 1st time i set my foot to Damansara. Thanks to Rey & Kisuragi for giving me a ride or i won't make it to the events. Anyway, as you can see, the Great Hill Giant is guarding the entrance or he's probably just guarding the GE car from getting stolen >.< . I wish they offer the car as prize ~.~ As we enter the building, the 1st thing that we saw was....
Since i forgot what he was called... i'll just nicknames him as Tetra boss or general boss =x He look like he's so happy to see us. I wonder what is on his mind? make us as his dinner? kill us endlessly in Boss Raid?

By the time we arrive, we already missed few events. So, i started with 5v5 challenge. 5v5 challenge started at 4.40pm and ended at 10.00pm. This is due to some technical problem occurred during the event. I'm not good at details, so i just go straight to the main point.

1st : Dominion ( famiglia, Kisuragi, Leoz, Lezard, Ralphe )
2nd : YakisobaMY ( CrimZama, dodobird, Fishes, Kazu, Nuub )
3rd : Pachelbel (i'm sorry, but i didnt know then names of the players)

We went home with a very happy but exhausted feeling (and we're very hungry).

And on to the last day, 16th September 2007....

We arrived at 1.00pm at Cineleisure and the Granado Espada demontration was undergo. There are 3 events happening: Leveling Competition, 2v2 challenge and Boss Raid. For the leveling competition, i forgot the names of the winners >.< (sorry)

The Boss Raid Challenge : save the GM! occured after the 2v2 challenge which ends at 6.30pm. Each team are required to kill 4 bosses.

Yea, we combine forces with Yakisoba to win the event. We end-up getting killed by a lv100 fallen champion ( it's a surprise gift from GM, since we manage to break the opponent time record ). The boss raid was the most fun event i had ever join (pvp always give me a bit of pressure =x). It was a non-stop excitement. Unfortunately, i don't have any SS of it (T_T).


I would like to take this chance to say thanks to NiAbUuUu for giving me your guardian ring ( T_T <- happy tears ), to Rey and Kisuragi for taking the time to pick me up and drop me off to PUTRA Kelana Jaya (i still say it's Putra! Not LRT =_=), Ralphe and Lezard for coming in from singapore to join the events (best leaders of Dominion), famiglia for being there cause i be lonely without you~ and to every1 who participate the events especially to Yakisoba. And finally to Hrin and Selwyn thank you for your support! It was FUN! Malaysia is not the only place which had GE Grand Launch Events. GE Grand Launch in Malaysia and Philippines

Grand Launch of Granado Espada happening to both countries. There are lots of activities players can join up which include Cosplay, Live Tournament, Quest and more. One of the best activities (which i wanted to see the most) is the GE International Challenge (Msia vs Ph) .

For Malaysia, it's started on 14 till 16 September 2007 at Cineleisure Damansara Concourse Area, from 12noon until 9pm. Any1 who interested in joining leveling contest, can try their luck on the 14th. On the 15th Sept, Remember GE MTV singers? Rinn and JinSha are coming to the launch~ Activities are 5v5 and Msia vs Ph Challenge ^_^. On the last day (16th Septh) there will be 2v2 and boss raid : save the GM event.

While in Philippines , the launch is on 15 September 2007 at One Esplanade from 2pm till 7pm. Activites included are Cosplay, 5v5, Offline Quest and band performance. For more details, you can check-out Ninemoon, Desangria or Veya's blog. (since i'm a bit clueless about the activities).

Yesterday CW was not bad at all. Though, i had to admit i done nothing at that time except eating my dinner when suddenly, i had lagness and end-up dead, get killed by some other faction who try to take the area. And again i want to say, Gratz to every1 on defend and help-out our allies. I hope we keep on the good work till we cant play GE anymore,lol.


Due to our boredom (since i cant move anywhere much) we end-up posing and this time for sure i got proof that Ralphe is attracted to ... umm... males >_< !

Boss Raid: Vergo

Gratz to every1 in CW (sorry i didn't got any SS of it). Keep up the good work ^_^!

After the CW, our faction decide to go for a boss raid in Porto Bello Desolate Cliff, lies Vergo the curse, who had been prison for years =x . Since we don't have any colonies nearby, we had to warp to Auch, then, Porto Bello and head for Desolate Cliff. BaoBao was in-charge of summoning the boss.

Vergo look so..macho doesnt it? XD . With his machine gun aoe, he manage to kill half of us, who can't either lagging or too late to avoid it. He bring out his minions, an anchor, a skeleton and some mob named Ravi (forgot his full name). We tried take out the mob 1 by 1 but suddenly came an interference which really mess-up our tactics. -.-" In the end, everyone who participate died due to Vergo's pawnage. I guess we need to train more before we can start killing it again. And what happened to my characters? Watching the gloomy sky while Vergo flying around me.

Lagness & CW

CW~ what a laggy day -.-" i always end-up lag-a-lot seeing invisible players in red icon and die standing. So, this time i dont join war much >.<, ok.. most of the time i don't join war much, except fooling around, warping from places to places and get bullied when players attack me in group ~_~ (that's the part i hate most) . Another lagness i encounter is during the boss raid =.= yes, the boss raid such as Diablo etc, even golden spider, make me walk far from target and in some occasion i do die without doing nothing. And suddenly i remember... i didnt get any SS of faction/boss raid which make me more T_T *crying*

Gratz to our members for a job well done and to our allies as well. We may lost some colonies but we gain back another. (i got this tiny feeling i'm missing something during the war =_=)

Representing the entire Dominion faction, I would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of IAH, who had put in both time and effort in restoring the state of our beloved faction.

On Monday night, as many might have noticed , more than half of our members were booted out of the faction by an unknown hacker. The incident was indeed a traumatizing one for all of us.

The hacker was exceedingly fast in his action, kicking out almost all the members who were online that night. Several minutes after the incident, all kicked members gathered in the City of Auch to discuss the next course of action. Interestingly, squading up with one another was the first thing most of us did to satisfy that sudden emptiness. War squad leaders went into action shortly after, to make a list of booted out members and within a short period of time, instructions were disseminated to all of us as to what we needed to do. Tickets were sent from every member affected and IAH responded promptly even though the server was scheduled for maintenance the next day.

Without doubt, this incident had certainly reaffirmed our commitment to the faction, strengthening existing ties like never before.

Simply Dominion

To begin with, I am certainly not the right person to be addressing Yakisoba's blog entry "The politics of Cervantes" which is essentially all about Dominion. However, I am writing on behalf of Wussking and Lezard, both of whom I know very well in person.

I would have preferred to maintain silence on this issue (since Tsubaki mentioned that the entry is written strictly from their point of view), if not for the fact that there are elements of personal attacks in it, coupled with a flaming war going on in the forum. I would like to ask all Dominions to not partake in this flaming, and allow me to address the issue here. My take on this may not represent all of the Dominions, but, I hope that it is enough to stop this whole hoo-ha.

1. History regarding the ‘Dominion vs Yakisoba’ War.

I do not have any recollection of Dominion openly declaring ourselves to be Yakisoba's rivals (I use the word rival in one of my entry earlier simply because Tsubaki mentioned it in his entry). The statement is debatable but it is definitely unfair to paint Dominion as the aggressor when in fact, we never have intention to be one. We simply do not wish for the Cervantes to be dominated by one faction, and works towards gaining a healthy playing ground for all, be it friends or foes.

2. On Wussking's ban.

To set the record straight and to stop all speculations on what happened to Wussking, he was indeed banned. Strangely though, Yakisoba's members came to know about it way before Dominion's members did. I would not question where they get this information from, but would rather address what really happened that resulted in his ban. Wussking did not bot and his only mistake come from using a gaming keyboard which xtrap did not has any issue with. He did not bypass xtrap intentionally, like what some has speculated. He has, in fact, only 1 level 100 character when he got banned from suspected botting. Straight after he got banned, he sent ticket(s) to IAH to investigate his case. He maintained his silence even to Dominion's member to prevent the faction from getting flustered by his ban. But nevertheless, Yakisoba caught wind of it, and use it to their best advantage.

This is perhaps only known in our faction, but a week after his ban, Wussking came back and resume duties as the leader (not in name). Even though his ban got him thinking about quitting for good, he did not take the easy way out. Instead, he picked himself up and came back to start from square one. I will not tolerate any personal insults on him, and no one has the right to judge him if they do not know him personally.

3. Dominion's series of abuses.

It is indeed not possible to transfer leadership by normal means. But Dominion did not go through any illegal means to get this done. We simply submitted a ticket to IAH, stating our valid reasons, and requested for the change of leadership. With Wussking's ban, we were unable to truce any factions that warred us. It was simply done out of necessity. If IAH has refuse to assist us, we would have opt for another option; re-creating a faction. We did not, ever contacted any GM and ask for special favors. GMs only manage the game, and they are probably not the decision makers. I, for one, did not understand what Tsubaki was trying to hint at.

I must admit that Dominion did abuse the bug that allowed us to transfer members without the 7-day penalty. I was not in favor of exploiting this bug, but the abuse from Yakisoba got so bad that half the time we were trying to fend them off. They took advantage of their 65% HP boost and went around hunting and killing Dominion's members, especially those that were doing afk-leveling. We have already admitted our defeat and requested for a truce. They did not grant it to us, and simply use it to their advantage. Yet, our policy has always been to maintain our relationships cordial. We were repeatably reminded not to kill on sight, unless provoked, which happened almost one hundred percent of the time. Then again, I would like to thank some of the Yakisoba's members, who kindly left us alone. On hindsight, the so-called ‘faction bug’ might not even be a bug at all since it has been known to many and I am sure IAH would have solved the issue or rectified it if they wanted the bug removed.

4. On Boss Raids against Dominion.

It is a known fact that Yakisoba monopolized bosses to prevent other factions from getting uniques and elites for their level 100s. You can refute me on this, but I have evidence to show otherwise. Tsubaki had also conveniently forgotten that they had 65% HP boost advantage for a week, which allowed them to kill on sight and to gain full access to the bosses.

5. Colony war 290607 and 050807.

Dominion had a BBQ session on 290607, which saw us ending the war with 0 colony. It was a crushing defeat, and those who attended the BBQ felt so bad, most left with a heavy heart. We logged in towards the end of the war to check the status and to witness insults being broadcasted. The attacks on us worsen our guilt of not attending the war.

This might have prompted the leaders to take a more drastic course of action for 050807 colony war. I was not involved in planning for the war, thus I am unable to reveal what prompted the ally and friends to work together. But many a times, what you reap is what you sow. I will not and do not wish to bad-mouth against any group but would like to put a simple point across in retrospect of what has happened. If what you have done thus far had been respectable in the eyes of others, we wouldn’t be witnessing such a situation of today.

6. The use of a Factionless member for resurrection purposes.

We did not rely on the use of a faction-less player to focus on resurrecting our members, it just so happened that the said player was paying the penalty of leaving a faction, but wanted to help out in the war. That is certainly not exploitation of any bug whatsoever. Simply a strategy that is very much part of the game.

7. Conclusions.

Dominion's main priority in game is to have fun, especially among friends, as simple as that. :)

GE goes hybrid pay to play!

The moment we are waiting for is here! GE Business model would be Hybrid P2P. The least players can invest is SGD9.90/P300/RM20/USD5.60. Players can choose either to play with G-Points with Time Game or G-Points without Time Game. Players can get their card through Official GE local dealer stated on GE website.

IAh Games decide to award players who had been with them since POBT : 90 days of Free Game Play time. These players need to have at least 1 character above lv20 during transition to commercial phase.

The DARK LORD & Love~

OMG! Vergo is coming and i'm not gonna be there *crying* ARGH!! Why do they make event when i was working~ T_T *tears, flooding the room*

FYI, The Dark Lord aka Vergo the curse is an in-game event which will be held tomorrow (9th August) at 2000hrs (8.00pm GMT+8). Players can gather in Reboldoeux Queens Gate to meet him. He's not gonna be easy to kill that's for sure. And this event will only occur in CHANNEL 1, ALL SERVER. There is no level requirement to kill him. I wonder what will he drop?

*sobbing* WHY does it happend on my work day~ ... i need to ind a new job T_T


Another event is happening but this time it's not in-game. Introducing Veya's Challenge: Love Siggy-Making Contest. Players can show-off their love creation thru this siggy contest. When will the contest ends? On 20th August 2007! And guess what is the prize? ANGEL WINGS! Colony War 050807

I am at a lost for words right now, trying to express how elated I am from the results of yesterday’s Colony war. With our prior defeat fresh on our minds, and having to start the war with no additional HP advantage, I must admit the vigor our faction members have shown astonished me.

The determination to make an effort in the face of adversity was evident. Each and everyone of the Dominions were ready to engage in battle right from start. In fact, even the extreme lag experienced during the war did not dampen our spirits. The collective effort of everyone doing their best, be it engaging the enemies, beacon-destroying or resuscitating dead comrades, make this war a well-fought one.

Special mentions and thanks to:

• The leaders, who painstakingly took time to discuss and plan for the war.
• The squad leaders, who lead their teams with admirable dedication and efficiency.
• The members, who sacrifice their precious weekend to participate in this war.
• Not forgetting our allies and friends, for, without you guys, there will be no Dominion.

The end of the war saw Dominion securing 5 Colonies: Pradera de Ceniza, El Tierra Blanco, Scorching Plateau, Ustiur Zona Uno and Ustiur Zona Dos.

Many would have also noticed an absence of GoD faction from the last 2 Colony Wars. I would like to take this opportunity to mention our merger with them. It has indeed been a wonderful time, welcoming GoD into our big family and getting to know each and everyone of them personally.

Our congratulations to the following factions for making their mark on Cervantes's map; CARNAGE, Vradical, XeNaTion, DarkCrusade, ChaosLegion, TheRepKnights, Anonymous and Yakisoba. Especially to CARNAGE, you guys rock!
